What is Microblading and Nanoblading and why choose DermaClinic Bristol?

Both, Microblading and Nanoblading are subtle forms of eyebrow enhancement by micropigmentation, where a fine, stylo-like tool with tiny needles are used to implant pigment into the upper layers of the skin.

The difference between Microblading and Nanoblading lies in the circumference of those tiny needles. The difference is measured in nano-millimetres and is invisible for the bare eye but it makes a difference in the final treatment outcome and allows me to tailor the treatment to the specific client's needs. Both techniques can be used for most clients and most skin types but to explain the difference in simple terms, I can say that:

Microblading is great for people with normal to oily, healthy skins allowing beautiful blend in between Microbladed strokes and regular to coarse natural hair.

Nanoblading on the other hand is best for clients with thinner, normal to dry skins and fine natural eyebrows. Nano strokes are more suitable for fragile skins and perfectly blend with very delicate natural eyebrows.

I specialise in hyper-realistic, natural-looking eyebrows. My signature Natural Micro and Nanoblading techniques mimic the natural direction of hair growth, creating a seamless blend between your existing hairs and the micro/nanobladed strokes.

Microblading and nanoblading are great options for people who...

Have sparse or uneven eyebrows

Have lost their eyebrows due to over-plucking, ageing or a medical condition

Want to save time on their daily makeup routine

Microblading and nanoblading are suitable for both women and men, complementing your facial features for a polished, effortless look.

LONGLASTING EFFECT

How long microblading lasts

Microblading lasts around 1.5 years. The longevity depends on a number of things — your skin, your lifestyle, your medical history and more. As a rule, more mature and drier skin tends to hold pigment longer than younger, oilier skin.

Treatment is split into two sessions: the initial appointment and a touch-up six weeks later. After that, a touch-up every 12–18 months keeps the brows looking fresh. Without those, the hair strokes gradually and evenly fade until they disappear.

Healing and aftercare

Micro and Nanoblading is a process, not a one-off — the healing matters as much as the appointment. For the first week or so the brows look darker and bolder than the final result, then they soften and lighten as they heal over three to four weeks. A little flaking is normal; it's important not to pick. I'll give you simple aftercare to follow, and the six-week top-up is where we perfect the shape and colour once everything has settled.

Our Microblading Results

Great eyebrows start with a consultation

Your journey towards your dream eyebrows start with a consultation and a patch test done at least 48hrs before the treatment.

Your safety and comfort are my top priorities, so we begin by discussing your medical history and analysing your skin to confirm you're suitable for microblading. This is also an opportunity for you to address any questions, ensuring you make an informed decision about your treatment. I'll also perform a patch test for the pigment and numbing cream used during the microblading procedure to rule out any allergies.

A Collaborative Process

My consultation is very collaborative — it's a chance to explore and tailor together an eyebrow shape that's most flattering for you. Your features, style, taste, makeup preferences, hair and how you like to express yourself all feed into the conversation. Some clients arrive with a clear idea of the brows they want; others prefer to rely on my eye. Both are completely fine. I set aside plenty of time to talk through your goals, answer your questions, and explain how to care for your brows before and after.
